REPORT - WALLOON MEMBERS INFO DAY

The Qld RPG was very pleased with the attendance at the Members Information Day held at Palmerston Equestrian Centre, Walloon on Saturday 20th February, 2010. Seventy-nine members and non-members attended the presentation of "Preparing to Win in the Ring" presented by Helen Slee and Christine Gray, from Victoria.

Covering a range of topics from feeding and conditioning, trimming, presentation, attire, show ring etiquette and the workout for showing the In-Hand pony, to choosing the right class for your pony be it Welsh or Open Leading Rein, and discussion on Welsh and Show Hunter type. Attendees particiated by asking plenty of questions as a number of ponies were brought forward to demonstrate the topics under discussion.

The Qld RPG committee would like to thank, Cathy Pender and Debbie Emmerson for providing ponies for the demonstrations. We hope that everyone enjoyed the day and learnt a few tips.

The following day four members underwent the Judges Assessment process, under the watchful gaze of Christine Gray and Helen Slee. We thank all members who brought their ponies in on this day, including a last minute scramble to supply four Section B ponies after the pre-arranged ponies were unable to come. A very big thank you to Mandy Temple, Toni Saunders, Elizabeth Doyle, Geoff Trim, Kathy Pile and Kim Quodling for you efforts in getting ponies in the ring. We couldn't have done it without you!

Our next Members Information Day will be held at Gympie Showgrounds the weekend following the Qld All Welsh Show. See below post for details.
